Today will be the coldest day of the week

As the first cold blast of the season appeared much earlier than usual, Meteorologist for the National Weather Service, Pamela Pietrycha, says that record temperatures were broken across their forecast area.

"Right now we have quite a few places that are in the single digits and that is pretty cold for this time of year, especially for November.  So for St. Joe the previous record was eight degrees back in 1986."

Pietrycha says that today will be the lowest that temperatures will get for the week.

"We won't warm up very much today.  Most of the area will see temperatures in the mid to upper twenties.   But we will see a warming trend into the weekend and into early next week."

Pietrycha urges people to be especially cautious with the sudden cold snap, bundle up properly, and to not leave any pets outside today.
